In the summer of 1978 I noted, built into the wall of a house in Damalas Troizinias, the inscribed base of a bronze (?) statue IG IV,9, 798. It was not complete, lacking about one third o f the left side with the beginning of the two lines (fi g. 1).Φαυστον Φαι]στον ήδε Λύκας φίλον υί’ ανέθηκεΠιτθήος Θρέπ]τειρα πόλις Τροιζήν περίσαμος.Ψ(ηφίσματι) β(ουλής).The unusual syntax and somewhat archaic vocabulary are a consequence of employing the dactylic hexameter meter; this was not noted in the above publication.
