Abstract:
An important funerary relief was found in Oreoi ( Northern Euboea ) last October.The relief depicts two female figures ( a young girl and a child ) facing right towards a third figure representing a seated woman, obviously the deceased, now almost completely missing. The girl carries a kalathos to the deceased, and the child, probably the dead woman’s daughter, rests her arms on her mother’s knees, leaning towards her.This relief is a very good example of Attic art of approximately 350 B.C.
