Abstract:
The church is a cross-in-square, complex four-columned type with a two-story narthex to the west. The narthex on the ground floor, as well as the first story, consists of three parts and is vaulted. A blind semicircular arcade decorates the lunette of the seven-sided conch of the sanctuary. The eastern wall is carefully constructed with opus pseudo-isodomum, pseudo-cloisonne masonry. A stone chevron frieze against concave background runs along the conch of the sanctuary beneath the cornice. There is carved decoration on the stone frame of the south door (window) of the narthex. The church has a wood-carved altarscreen of 1849 and is decorated with wall paintings of 1798, the work of Choniadites painters.
